How to improve your Mental Health

How to improve your Mental Health

Give priority to rest and sleep

Sleep hygiene techniques aim to improve the quality of sleep and treat sleep disorders. These include adjusting your caffeine intake, limiting bedtime exposure (regulate your sleep time and limited time for sleeping), and make sure you get up in the morning at the same time.
Some people are genetically predisposed to be more than one person in the morning or afternoon. Ideally, we should therefore have some flexibility in this regard (especially in work plans).

 Coffee

Caffeine works by stimulating the central nervous system, of which the brain is an important part. Coffee or another drink with caffeine causes the brain to release dopamine, serotonin. In addition, hormones such as adrenaline and norepinephrine are released.

 Dark chocolate

Good news for all chocolate lovers: if you eat some dark chocolates during the week, you can improve your mental acuity and alertness with caffeine and other nutrients.

 Enjoy Sunlight

Sunlight is an excellent source of vitamin D. Vitamin D is a very important vitamin for our body and our brain. It helps our brain release chemicals that improve our mood, such as endorphins and serotonin. Go to the sun when you can, but make sure your skin and eyes are safe. Sunlight is ideal for 30 minutes to two hours a day. In winter, some people are depressed because they do not get enough sun, so-called seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

 Avoid stress

There are many forms of stress. People do not even realize that they suffer from stress, but developing small and regular negative thoughts and energy can have a negative impact on their mental and even physical health.

Stress can affect mental health in a variety of conditions, including depression and anxiety, personality changes, bipolar disorder, behavioural problems, cognitive problems (thinking), and so on.

In addition to poor mental health, stress can also lead to extreme fatigue, negative emotions, hair loss, infertility, muscle aches, weight loss / weight gain, and internal organ dysfunction. Always try to find out what are the main causes of stress in your life. You can easily determine it by evaluating your environment.

Later, try to change as much as possible causes of stress. Most of the stress causes mentioned above can be easily solved by making small positive changes by avoiding the trigger. For example, it is often difficult to avoid office distractions such as colleagues. However, you can consciously choose to leave the office at lunch time and walk alone in a quiet outside location.
