Gargle with salt water

 Gargling with salt water loses excess mucus and eliminates bacteria and fungi from the throat. The Mayo Clinic confirms that it can temporarily relieve aches and pains in the throat. Dissolve 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of warm water, depending on the clinic site. A study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine showed that it almost guaranteed a 40% reduction in upper respiratory tract infections during the cold and flu season, compared to a control group.

Ginger

First boil 1 teaspoon of ginger in 1 litre of water. Once the water has cooled down a bit, you can lean your face towards the jar, place a towel over your head and inhale the steam through your nose for several minutes. Repeat if necessary.

Leaves of guavas

Boiling some leaves of guava and drink juice can relieve cough. The leaves of guava trees have many benefits for the human body, but are best known as an effective remedy for colds and coughs. It reduces the mucus that causes the cough that actually serves as a host to viruses. Guava leaf juice disinfects the respiratory system, throat and lungs.

Whiskey

There is a reason why we know that whiskey helps with coughing, especially in the dry variety.
I'm not sure it's because of the warm, light sensation that whiskey produces, but I can tell you that it calms even the worst coughs. Maybe most of the cough syrups you can buy have a high dose of alcohol. So, whiskey is also a remedy for cough.

Honey

Honey has several antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Drinking honey in lemon tea can relieve sore throats. Research suggests that honey is also an effective antitussive. In one study, researchers found that taking children with 10 grams of honey at bedtime reduced the severity of their cough symptoms. Children are expected to have slept more, which also helps to reduce cold symptoms.
You should never give honey to a child under one year of age because it often contains botulin spores. Although it is normally harmless to older children and adults, the immune system of babies cannot defend themselves.
